The MDFT lter bank an be regarded as the most general type of a spe ial lass of lter banks. These lter banks have linear phase analysis lters, but di erent enters of symmetry due to subsampling with and without a phase shift [1℄, [2℄. Already known extension methods annot be applied to these lter banks in their original form [3℄. We rst disuss the symmetri extension for two spe ial input signal lengths. These ases are then in orporated in the general solution for arbitrary-length input signals. 1. متن کاملA general formulation of modulated filter banks
This paper presents a general framework for maximally decimated modulated filter banks. The theory covers the known classes of cosine modulation and relates them to complexmodulated filter banks. The prototype filters have arbitrary lengths, and the overall delay of the filter bank is arbitrary, within fundamental limits. Necessary and sufficient conditions for perfect reconstruction (PR) are d...
متن کاملA Novel Design of Linear Phase Non-uniform Digital Filter Banks
In many applications such as wireless communications and subband adaptive filtering, we need to design non-uniform filter banks (NUFB), which may lead to better performances and reduced hardware complexity when compared to uniform filter bank. NUFB satisfying linear phase property for all the constituent filters, are desirable in applications such as speech and image processing and in communica...
متن کاملProcessing arbitrary-length signals with linear-phase cosine-modulated filter banks
This paper presents methods for the decomposition of arbitrary-length signals with linear-phase cosine-modulated "lter banks. The analysis "lters of this "lter bank are divided into two sets having di!erent centers of symmetry. This prohibits the use of standard extension methods as described in the literature. Nevertheless, we show that symmetric extension can be adapted in such a way that the...
